As a result of the public consultation held in November 2022, ACMA updated the General Equipment Rules, Significant event provisions and Protected Symbols Determination.
Protected Symbols Determination Since February 2016, the A-Tick and C-Tick marks were no longer permitted on newly supplied equipment, so their use is no longer protected. But, the Regulatory Compliance Mark (RCM) remains a protected symbol.
Significant event provisions
Significant events are now covered by section 54A of the General Equipment Rules. Both LIPD Class License Variation and The Telco Significant Event Instrument amend the definition of ‘significant event’ in Radiocommunications and Telecommunications

Repeal
13 radio communications-mandated technical standards. The Radiocommunications (121.5 MHz and 243.0 MHz Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacons) Standard 2014.
Replace
Interim electromagnetic energy (EME) test method IEC TR 63170 (old) to IEC/IEEE 63195-1:2022 and IEC/IEEE 63195-2:2022 ( new) Rename Rename the list of devices according to their compliance obligations.
Other
By the new 5 additional documents, suppliers are easier to achieve compliance with technical performance requirements. include a provision for the exclusion of equipment used in connection with "significant events" as defined by the ACMA in a notifiable instrument.
