Energy Star is a voluntary program of the Environmental Protection Agency that helps businesses and individuals save money and protect our climate through superior energy efficiency. Learn more about Energy Star.
What is Energy Star certification?
The Energy Star program is a voluntary testing and labeling program run by the Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Energy. Energy Star encourages manufacturers of various technologies and appliances to design their products with energy efficiency in mind.
An independent ENERGY STAR testing laboratory can demonstrate your product's ENERGY efficiency at your initiative.
The Appliance and Equipment Standards Program works with the Environmental Protection Agency to ensure a voluntary Energy Star program to ensure that labeled products meet Energy Star specifications.
Product categories requiring mandatory labelling require minimum energy efficiency standards (MEPS), including:
Ballast
Freezer
The water heater
Electric heater
Fluorescent lamp
Indoor air conditioning
The washing machine
The refrigerator etc.
Our KMO laboratory has a relatively complete telecom terminal testing capability and EPA accreditation qualification, which can directly issue EPA approved reports. Now we provide the following testing standards for domestic and foreign customers:
Energy Star Test Method for Televisions, Energy Star Program Requirements for Televisions, Version 8.0 CEA-2037-A (2014);

If you import energy consuming products into Canada, you need to know if your products are:
Minimum energy performance standards under Canada's Energy Efficiency Regulations must be met;
EnerGuide tag required;
Energy Star certified high efficiency model.
Canada's Energy Efficiency Act and Energy Efficiency Regulations are administered by Natural Resources Canada (NRCan).
Note that some Canadian provinces also have their own energy efficiency regulations for many federally regulated products. In some cases, provincial regulations may differ from federal requirements or may apply to other types of energy consuming equipment.
All of the following regulated products must meet federal energy efficiency standards before they can be imported into Canada or shipped from one province to another for sale or lease:
Home appliances
Commercial refrigerating equipment
Electronic products,
Heating and air conditioning equipment
Industrial/commercial equipment
Lighting products
The water heater
